Microsoft: A Free Cash Flow Bargain
Peter Mycroft Psaras submits: Microsoft (MSFT) is what I call the Rodney Dangerfield of investments, as no matter what they do, they cannot get any respect. Recently I have been shifting my research towards the internet industry as a place to find high quality investments at attractive valuations. In my previous article on Google (GOOG), I showed how negative market sentiment can create opportunity for the investor who understands the power of free cash flow. Google was oversold relative to its valuation and when they reported better than expected numbers, the stock erupted. The first one being that they are in a major software upgrade cycle, introducing Windows 7 and Office 2010 on a global scale. People get excited when they read about Apple (AAPL) selling 14 million I-Phones this quarter and 4 million+ IPad's, but you hear very little about the fact that Microsoft operating systems run more than 90 percent of the world's computers. Windows 7 is also the fastest selling operating system in Microsoft’s history. I use Windows 7 myself and it is just amazing compared to their inferior Vista product that I struggled with on a daily basis. Complete Story » seekingalpha.com |
